Call for Submissions: Why I Wrote This Book

Havana Times invites Caribbean and Latin American authors to share the story behind their books. Tell us where the idea came from, what shaped the writing process, and what you hope readers take away.
What we’re looking for
Guest posts of 600 to 900 words covering any of the following:
- The origin of the book and what sparked it
- The personal or cultural context behind the writing
- Challenges faced along the way
- What the book means to you
Open to all genres.
Who can submit
Published authors from the Caribbean and Latin America, or those writing about the region and its diaspora. Recent, backlist, or forthcoming books all welcome.
Guidelines
- 600 to 900 words, in English or Spanish (Havana Times may translate for bilingual publication)
- Include a short third-person author bio, an author photo, and your book cover image
- Rolling submissions, no deadline
